Honeybee For Keeps

Sara + David • Albany, NY

Sara and David had their wedding in July, and we love that summer lighting in all their outdoor photos! Her bouquet was equally bright and fresh, with white roses, peonies, dahlias and hydrangea with super subtle hints of blush and a bed of rose gold-painted greenery. Their wedding had lots of hexagon elements (ring box, perfume bottle, cake topper, table numbers), which of course we love here at Honeybee! All of our artwork orders come with an enclosure card that says “Meant to bee,” and Sara told us they had that phrase on their wedding favors, which were little bottles of honey! We can’t get over how “meant to bee” this collaboration was! Oh, and did we mention that Sara is just about the nicest, sweetest person you’ll ever meet? Even on a hectic day at the Honeybee studio, getting to chat with Sara about her artwork always brightened our day; she is truly lit from within and her amazing energy can’t help but make you smile!

Sara and David’s artwork collection included the large hexagon wedding bouquet artwork with custom text inlay, dessert wine glasses, hexagon column candle holders and a faceted ring holder. For the main artwork piece, we included the ribbon Sara wore from their legal wedding, which she wrapped around her wedding bouquet to tie both life events together. We always love when special elements are included in the artwork to make each couple’s keepsake even more unique, customized and personal! Sara shared photos of their collection on Instagram after she received it in the mail, and you can check it out in our highlights. It’s always nice to see pics irl of keepsakes in their new home!

In the photos below, we also had to include one showing off the Disney-themed dance party going on at Sara and David’s reception! Stefani’s (Honeybee’s founder) grandfather was a wedding officiant for Disney’s Fairytale Weddings in Orlando, FL, and we can’t get enough of those Mickey and Minnie ears worn by the bride and groom and their guests! Equally as fun, Sara’s sister got married two months later and had us preserve her bouquet for her, too! We’re swooning over here!

To top it all off, we are incredibly honored that Sara and David chose Honeybee to preserve their wedding flowers into artwork, because Sara is quite the artist herself! She runs a small decorated cookie business, called Redhead Cookie Company and her decorating skills are off the charts! She is SO talented and her custom designs run the gamut, including wedding-themed motifs. You should definitely commission her to create custom cookies for your engagement party, bridal shower, wedding favors, or any other event!
