Honeybee For Keeps

Kaitlyn told us why preserving her wedding bouquet was a must, and we think this is so special: “Preserving my florals from my wedding day was super important for me. My husband and I were together for 10 years before we got married and over those years I have always saved flowers that he has gotten me! I have a shadow box full of dried roses proudly hanging on my wall. So I knew I wanted to do something extra special with my wedding flowers! One of the extra special touches in my wedding flowers was ivy vines. This ivy was from my mothers wedding bouquet (over 32 years ago) that she saved and propagated. Every family member and close friend has been given a part of this ivy on their wedding day! You managed to perfectly capture my bouquet and showcase such a sentimental aspect. I can’t thank you enough! You are one amazing artist!”

Kaitlyn’s bouquet contained a variety of red roses, white roses, blue thistle, white lisianthus, white wax flowers, eucalyptus, ruscus - and that incredible ivy! Red florals, especially roses, tend to dry very dark, but these roses, curated by Blue Moon Florist, maintained much of their red color and darkened only a little, and we couldn’t be happier with how this hexagon Wedding Bouquet Preservation turned out! We wanted the ivy to be prominent in the composition, so we incorporated several sprigs around the whole design - enough to indicate what a meaningful element it was while also sharing the space with the other florals from her bouquet. We might be a little obsessed with this keepsake!
